VOTING
Updated On: Aug 243, 2012

You cannot make a difference in politics unless you vote. Teamsters Local 991 is commited to making sure that every one of our members is registered to vote.

Following is an excerpt from a June 28, 2012 letter to all Teamster Leaders from General President James P. Hoffa and General Secretary-Treasurer Ken Hall:

"Since their victories in the 2010 elections, anti-worker politicians and their corporate backers have mounted an all-out attack on American workers."

"This November we get to fight back at the ballot box. In this era of Super PACs and unlimited corporate funding, we can be sure that the other side will outspend us. One thing they will not do is out-organize us. There are over 1.2 million Teamster members in the United States, and we need to make sure that every one of our brothers and sisters learns the issues, learns which candidates are on our side, and votes on Election Day. The first step to exercising our power at the ballot box is making sure our members are registered to vote."

Local 991 has members residing in the States of Alabama, Florida and Mississippi. We have added information articles for each of these States to answer your questions and assist you in registering to vote.
