Dues Notice

Any member standing three months in arrears in the payment of union dues shall automatically be suspended at the end of the third month. To be restored to good standing, back dues must be paid, along with a re-initiation fee. These rules are set by the IBT.

If you are terminated, laid off, on a leave of absence, suffer a long-term illness, on workers' compensation and so forth, you may notify the Local Union and be placed on withdrawal status to prevent you from owing back dues. Please be aware that non-payment of dues, including withdrawal status, may result in your being ineligible to run for local office.

If you are on withdrawal status you are not liable for payment of dues during the months you do not work, but IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY THE LOCAL UNION IMMEDIATELY, otherwise your dues liability will continue to accrue. Also, please remember to notify the Local Union when you return to work so that you can be re-activated in a timely manner.

You may notify Teamsters Local 991 of your request to be placed on "withdrawal"  by calling the office at (251) 433-1521, by e-mail at Team991@aol.com, by U.S. Mail to Teamsters Local 991, 112 S. Broad Street, Mobile, AL 36602, or by fax at (251) 433-1524.
