Mississippi Voter Registration Fact Sheet

Voter Registration Deadline:  Voter registration is closed during the 30 days prior to an election.

Qualifications:  To register to vote in Mississippi, an individual must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be a U.S. citizen;
  • Reside in Mississippi;
  • Be at least 18 years old on or before the next general election;
  • Have never been convicted of murder, rape, bribery, theft, arson, obtaining  money or goods under false pretense, perjury, forgery, embezzlement, or bigamy (or have rights restored);
  • Have not been declared mentally incompetent by a court.

  • Circuit Clerk's office;
  • Municipal Clerk's office;
  • Driver's license office (Dept. of Public Safety).
